Decorating a Brown and White Traditional Kitchen

Emery

Brown and white might seem like boring hues, but they are anything but lackluster, especially in a traditional kitchen. Cabinetry and furnishings in a deep rich shade of brown can be lovely. White contrasts beautifully with the dark hue, and it coordinates with the shine that naturally emanates from the surface when it is hit by natural or artificial light. It can look rich, exquisite, and very inviting.

The last kitchen that I designed was chocolate brown and lily-white. The results were stylish and very impressive. My client selected dark oak cabinets boasting heavy duty slide rails, deep brown Corian countertops, a white island, and beautiful Pergo flooring. It was my job to come up with the finishing touches that would make the traditional kitchen warm and inviting. I wanted to find ways to add life with color.

Display Green Plant Life in White Milk Glass

White milk glass is a traditional collectible glassware, and when decorating a brown and white kitchen, it is a lovely addition. Display green plant life in white milk glass when decorating a brown kitchen. The white glass will contrast beautifully with the cabinets and countertops, and the greenery will add natural color and appeal.

When decorating my client’s traditional kitchen in brown and white, I purchased a milk glass vessel that would be used to hold a beautiful peperomia plant. I provided adequate drainage by adding a layer of pebbles, and I filled the vessel with rich organic soil. Consider a single plant when decorating a kitchen in brown and white, and use a traditional milk glass container instead of a planter. A single green plant in a beautiful container is far more impressive than dozens of plants in ordinary plastic pots.

Decorating with Beautiful Faux Blooms on a Tiered Platter

I prefer to use unexpected items when decorating homes. After all, why use the same decorating accessories as everyone else? Unique items are much more impressive, and some of the most unique items of all have alternate uses. Consider decorating a brown traditional kitchen with a beautiful white tiered platter. Add color and appeal by adding flower heads in colors and varieties of your choice. When decorating my client’s brown and white traditional kitchen, I filled the tiered platter with high-quality flower heads in lavender and blue. It looked amazing.

Create a Focal Point on a Single Wall

When decorating a kitchen or any room in the home, choose wall art that will become the focal point of the space. With the approval of my client, I chose an oversized work of sculpted metal for a bare kitchen wall. It was comprised of a brown planter filled with blue and violet hydrangeas. It was one of the most beautiful wall hangings that I had ever found, and it looked great on the bare tan wall. The colors brought more attention to the blooms on the tiered platter. With the deep brown cabinets, flooring, and other decors, my client’s traditional kitchen looked absolutely amazing.

Guide to Preventing Hip Injuries While Exercising

Emery

It’s a rare soccer player who hasn’t heard of or experienced hip pointers or basic muscle tears. Hip injuries are common in all sports that involve sudden change of motion or rotation of the hip joint in odd ways, so even sports that do not involve a lot of risk of injury from collision (such as golf or tennis) may see a disproportionate number of players with hip injuries. In sports where sudden directional changes are coupled with potential collision, such as soccer and football, hip injuries can be extremely common. However, there are a number of ways to avoid injury, mostly centered on stretching exercises prior to playing.

Hip injury can be prevented by proper stretching and by training even on the off-season. Any sport that requires sudden stops and starts, sudden changes in momentum, or twisting action by the hip can create hip injuries. Hip injuries can be extremely minor, requiring only rest and a bit of ice and elevation, to extremely major, necessitating surgery and bed rest. Fortunately, the below stretches can decrease the chances of a hip injury, as can making sure to stop immediately when one begins so that it can be treated before major injury occurs.

Stretches are always useful in keeping your hips in shape and if it does not involve too much stress, it will be quite a useful practice as it will prevent weight problems as well, which you can learn more by looking up hip flexors info online.

The article Hip to be Square in Men’s Fitness delineates a number of stretches that can decrease the likelihood of hip injury. One of these, the inner leg lift, is one seen in almost every pre-game workout. In this stretch, players lay on their side and lifts the leg on top into the air by about six to twelve inches repeatedly, making sure to lift and lower steadily. This stretches out the hip muscles and strengthens the thigh muscles to provide additional support.

The outer leg lift is just like the inner leg left in starting position. However, instead of raising the top leg, the bottom leg is raised. To do this, place the top leg, bent, with foot next to the kneecap of the bottom leg. Then raise the bottom leg slowly about 3-6 inches off of the ground. After 10-15 repetitions, roll over and switch legs.

Another useful exercise to avoid hip injury is the hip flexor, which I found particularly useful in avoiding the hip pointers that repeatedly cropped up while I was playing soccer. From a standing position, the player raises one leg off of the floor and bend it. Hold for about 10 seconds, then lower the leg slowly. Repeat for 5-10 times before doing the same with the other leg.

What workout is complete without squats? Squatting is a relatively simple though immensely tiring stretch that works the calf, thigh and gluts, all areas that help provide support so that hip injury is less likely to occur. From a standing position, bend both legs and squat down. Do not use the ground or your legs to rest upon, relying instead on pure muscle strength of the above referenced muscles to keep you up. After squatting for about a second, rise up slowly. Do this repeatedly. Although exhausting, it has a multitude of advantages and, I would say, is the best prevention for hip injury.

Squeezing an exercise ball (or a football or a soccer ball) between the thighs above the knees can improve inner thigh strength and decrease likelihood of hip injury.

Jackknives also improve leg strength and make hip injury less common. Players lay on their backs with hands tucked behind their heads. Legs are bent suddenly and sharply to bring the knees to the chest, then lowered slowly. This is repeated 10-20 times and increases flexibility and strengthens the gluts.

Much like the jackknife is lying leg raises. This exercise consists of laying on one’s back and raising the whole straight leg up in the air to a 90 degree angle to the rest of the body. It works the same muscles as the jackknife, but should be done more slowly.

My all time favorite stretch is the twisting leg raise because it has the added advantage of working the abdominal muscles at the same time with wonderful results. The disadvantage to this exercise is that it necessitates at the very least a chin up bar, though an actual exercise stand built for this purpose is better. Either hanging on the bar or placing arms appropriately on the arm bars, the knees are raised to the chest in a quick twisting motion to the right, then to the left. Each side should be repeated 10-20 times.

A particularly tricky stretch that provides exceptional flexibility and can often be seen on high school football fields before a game is the abdominal dragon flag. Lying down, legs are raised much as in the lying leg raise. The difference is that the player then continues raising his or her back from the ground until only the very upper most portion of the neck and the head are the only portions of the body left on the ground.

As a coach of young teenage girls, I favored the instep lunge for building glut muscles and providing flexibility, and encouraged them to continue this exercise even in the off season to maintain that strength and flexibility. Players stretching in this manner start in a standing position, then lunge one foot forward as far as they can reach, squatting down as they do so and bending the knee sharply. The other leg is then brought forward to come even with the first, and then the foot that was not lunged previously is lunged forward. This is repeated across an entire length of the field.

Laundromat Law Of Attraction

Emery

I broke my washing machine. Did I take a baseball bat to it? No, but it might have been fun. I guess I still could if I really wanted, although I really need to get on craigslist and post it for scrap. I broke my washing machine with the power of my mind. Moreover, reading manifestation magic reviews also gave me a little confidence in myself as well.

I do a lot of laundries, and every time I put a load in, took a loadout, or walked past that machine I imagined it breaking and then me using a brand new energy-efficient machine. I imagined how it would look, the detergent I would use, the decrease in our water and electric bills, how it wouldn’t rock and howl like a maniac when it got unbalanced on the rinse cycle, how the clothes wouldn’t come out dripping (a real problem when you exclusively line dry in rainy winter), and then I’d finish up this wonderful fantasy with the thought that I would buy a new one “as soon as this one breaks beyond repair!”

Now I suppose this wasn’t the most mature way to go about obtaining myself a new washing machine. The question on everyone’s mind probably is “if you hated it so much, why didn’t you just save up for a new one?” I guess that does make more sense, but when you are currently applying for an income-based repayment on thousands of dollars of school loans and negotiating payment plans on six-month-old bills to your eye doctor, saving up for a new washing machine seems just a little frivolous. I guess I felt like I would really have to deserve to get a new washer and part of that feeling seems to have included flooding my garage numerous times, failed repairs, and hauling two kids and six loads of stinky laundry down the street twice a week.

When my husband and I finally decided this needed a replacement I found myself balking and dragging my feet. I knew I should just suck it up and get another free machine and wash it into the dirt again, but I just couldn’t. Finally, I pieced together my reluctance and my visions. When I told Edward about my broken washer daydreams he just sighed and said “why did you do that?” then helped me find the perfect washing machine.

We have a remake of an old wringer washer on its way to us right now. It should be here next week. I am so excited. It’s a little more labor-intensive, but I kind of like that. That’s partly why I line dry. There is something so soothing and meaningful about handling each item. When you don’t own very much, caring for what you do have becomes more important, and as you care for each item, it’s almost as if you infuse it with the love and appreciation for what it does for you and in return, you feel that love surround you as you wear it. I know, I’m a little batty. I’m sure that’s not what my family is thinking as they slide into cold damp clothing that didn’t get completely dry.

Why the Mario Party Series is Our Favorite

Emery

Since video games became popular in the 1980s, my wife and I have played countless games such as Fortnites that also featured today’s Fortnite item shop. Technology advancements make games so much more action-packed and realistic now than back then. However, we now prefer more laid-back family-oriented games. Nintendo’s Mario Party suits us perfectly, and it has become our favorite video game series.

Family game

Mario Party is a family-friendly series of which we approve for our pre-teen son. We look for games that have an ESRB rating of E10 or lower. Mario Party games are rated E. We have never seen anything that we deem inappropriate in any of the seven Mario Party games that we have played since 2006.

Gameplay

Characters race in board-game fashion obtaining gold stars. The player who obtains the most wins. Collecting stars takes both luck and skill. Dice rolls determine the number of spaces to move, and where the road splits, players must choose the correct path to the star. Players must have enough coins – usually twenty — to purchase the stars. To get the coins, players can win minigames between turns, land on special coin bonus spaces, or take them from other players. Players can lose coins by losing duels, landing on certain spaces, buying stars and power orbs, or having the evil dragon Bowser take them.

Minigames

Players roll the dice and move toward the stars. After all four players roll and move, they compete in minigames for coins. The minigames feature many different types of competition: races, memory, sports, chance, fights, and more. The winner gets ten coins in most cases, but variations occur. We each have a specialty. I normally win the quick reaction games, my wife is best with the fighting games, and our son almost always wins the skill games. We never know which will pop up, so we cannot predict the winner in advance.

Equal chances of winning

Our son will completely destroy us at most fast-paced games, but we can compete with him at any Mario Party game. The games mix fast-paced minigames with slow-moving turns. Winning or losing every time makes a game tedious for us, but since any of us can win Mario Party, we stay interested. Success can turn sour quickly, and special chance spaces can cause players to exchange fortunes at any time. We have all had our low star count turn high – and high to low – by landing on a chance space within the last few turns of a game.

Time together

One final quality makes the Mario Party series our favorite. We can visit as a family while we play. We can talk casually about our day or our son’s last baseball game, or we can discuss more serious issues such as bills due, family concerns, or important upcoming tasks and events. We will even bring our Nintendo Gamecube with us on vacations so we can play Mario Party 4 through 7 in our resort rooms.

Looking for more

We really enjoy the Mario Party series. The games allow us to spend time together, and we all have an equal chance of winning. We own seven of the nine versions available, and if/when versions 1 and 3 become downloadable for Wii, we will get them. We always look forward to the next version, and we hope that Nintendo will put out Mario Party 10 before too long.

How To Make An Ant Free Cat Or Dog Feeding Bowl

Emery

In addition to a couple of indoor cats my wife and I enjoy feeding several additional outdoor pets. Two of these ‘outsiders’ are cats we have adopted which were born in the wild and prefer to live outside. In addition (at last count) 3 abandoned/stray cats are frequent guests at the three feeding and water bowls we maintain on our covered front porch.

From our breakfast room window we enjoy watching the almost constant parade of cats of all shapes, sizes and colors to and from our front porch.

Each morning we rinse out and wipe clean the 3 feed bowls and fill each bowl with 3 cups of dried, pellet cat food. In the evening we replenish the bowls with an additional cup of food. The water bowl is replenished daily and changed every third day.

During the winter months our feeding routine presents few problems. The cats, knowing our feeding schedule are hungrily standing by as we refill the bowls and will revisit the bowls throughout the day until all of the food is gone. Different people have the question that How to wash and groom a dog’s face? The washing of the face should be done with proper care through soap and water. It can be done through the experts also.

However, with the first sign of Spring a new problem surfaces. Overnight thousands of ants appear, marching in straight, orderly lines from the ground, up the foundation wall, onto the porch and into the feed bowls. As Spring gives way to Summer ants are everywhere, thousands upon thousands of hungry, marching ants. These little critters not only cover the floor of the porch, but concentrate so heavily in the feed bowls that the brown pellets appear to take up the orange tint of shoulder to shoulder ants.

Making matters worse even the most hungry of our cats will not feed once the bowl is infested with ants.

What to do?

In an attempt to eliminate the ant problem we considered using any of several commercial pesticides, but after reading the warning labels we were very concerned about the potential environmental effect of applying these poisonous sprays and powders which could possibly end up in our ground water. Most of all we did not want these poisons in and around our cat feeding area.

The solution we found was both simple and effective and importantly, presented no danger the health of our cats or the environment.

Step 1:

From a neighborhood Home Furnishings store I found and purchased 3 sets of very inexpensive plastic bowls. Each set contained six varying sized bowls, nested together on top of one twelve inch diameter saucer.

Step 2:

From each set we selected the smallest bowl, which was 6 inches in diameter and three inches deep, to be our new cat feeding bowl.

Step 3:

From each of the three sets we selected the 12 inch in diameter saucer and filled each with two inches of water.

Step 4:

In the center of each water-filled saucer we placed the 6 inch bowl (step 2 above) and filled it with the usual 3 cups of pelltized food.

The weight of the food filled bowl is sufficient to keep it from floating. Placing the food bowl in the center of the saucer provides a 3 inch water filled moat around the food bowl which serves as a very effective and safe deterrent from invading ants.

After initial deployment of our new defense the ants would march up to the saucer, climb its’ side and circle the perimeter, looking for a way to cross over to the feed bowl. Evidently in response to the smell of the food the ants returned for the next three days before giving up the fight.

As an unexpected by product of our feeding system we were surprised to see the cats happily alternating between feeding and drinking from the saucer’s ‘moat’.

This environmentally safe system has continued to work quite successfully for us.

Hiking The Narrows At Zion National Park

Emery

I’ll never forget my first trip to Zion National Park in Southern Utah. I’ve been to other National Parks, but none have compared in beauty or in array of activities. The main attraction, if you had to narrow it down to just one (no pun intended), at Zion is The Narrows. Carved from the Virgin River, The Narrows is a natural wonder unlike any other. The pottery smooth walls that tower to heights that skyscrapers would envy are just the beginning.

Being the adventurous type, I couldn’t just do as others do and enter the bottom  amp; work my way upward… No, that would be too easy. I like to take the road less traveled and that is exactly what I did, after getting my backcountry permit of course. With driving directions, a not too specific hiking guide, and a few companions, I headed to the journey of a lifetime. The sunset drive was definitely notable and the directions lead me to a not so smooth dirt road that eventually came to a gate that opened to a small parking area in a cow pasture.

We were specifically told that no tents were to be pitched on this private piece of property, so we prepared for a chilly night under the stars with the cows. Awaking early, very early, the next morning we got ourselves together, ate a bagel, and went on our way – flashlights in hand – to find the entrance of the National Park. As we set out, the movie “Stand By Me” came to mind. The first portion of the adventure is an easy walk on a dirt road that leads you to the river. I remember that it was cold and the sun hadn’t officially started work for the day when we reached the river. I carefully hopped from rock to rock to cross without getting wet, something that seems quite ridiculous since the next 10 hours were spent in the water, I guess I just needed some time to come to grips with the reality of hiking in a river.

It isn’t so bad once you make the commitment to have wet feet. It wasn’t long until we reached the beginning of the Narrows, marked by a sign that welcomed us to Zion National Park. It seemed out of place, considering we were in the middle of a river in the middle of nowhere. We continued onward, stopping to take pictures of the scenery. I remember the feeling of awe that came over me when I finally decided to stop and turn around. Had I really walked right past those amazing sites without even taking notice? From then on I made it a point to stop and smell the roses more often, while still intently watching my every step from slippery rock to slippery rock (please note – walking sticks are a must). I vaguely remember a sign marked Campsite 14 (?), I couldn’t believe my eyes. Were they kidding? Who in their right mind would hike hours through a river with camping gear? Although, I must admit it seemed a bit intriguing and I even noted the sites that were the most compelling.

The nonstop scenery was unbelievable: waterfalls, narrow passages that shut out the sun, blue pools of water, trees growing right out of the rocks, rocks that were producing water, caves, birds nests, fish, and absolutely no other people. We had been alone for about 10 hours before we saw our first human life forms. We ask them what time it was and how long they had been hiking. To our disbelief they had started at the bottom the same time we had started at the top. It was then that I realized what an accomplishment we had embarked upon. What we saw would never be seen by our upriver hiking friends. Eventually we came across more and more tourists wading their way to swimming holes and natural waterslides. Most of the hike was pretty straight forward in ankle to calf high water, but it did entail the occasional climb over fallen trees and big rocks, and a few episodes of carrying your backpacks over our heads while wading through chest high waters. When it got too hot we’d hike to a bank where we could leave our belongings and make use of the deeper parts of the river. When we got hungry we stopped and ate on a big rock.

There were several photo ops and we took advantage of all that we could (a word of advice, bring a lot of film). Towards the end of the hike, my feet were waterlogged and I was getting tired. The flagstone stairs to the trail that lead to the bus, that lead to the car, that lead to the drive back to pick up the other car, was a very welcomed site. We deposited our walking sticks in the bin for others to make use of and left the peaceful canyon. We ate a quick bite at the Zion Pizza  amp; Noodle Company (great pizza, pasta, salad, and beer!) before heading to our riverside campsite for some toasted marshmallows. Since then I have planned a Zion Camping Trip every year to either take on the Narrows or to explore other wonderful attractions, like the Subway! For information on how to plan your own Narrows adventure, check out the National Park Service site: http://www.nps.gov/zion/ZionNarrows.htm

Lastly, you can have an amazing adventure experience if you use the right tools. Most of the trekking and hiking tools that you can find in the market are really helpful and reliable. You can see more @ trekt. This site provides wide variety of products for hiking and trekking. It also offers guidelines about adventure.

Online Communities Of The Dead: Social Network Pages Of Deceased Myspace And Facebook Users

Emery

Social networking does not stop when you are dead. Alive in cyberspace, your social network page may become part of online communities that commemorate dead site members or provide opportunities for contemplation. Is it morbid?

Dead Social Networking Site Members on the Rise

Just as MySpace and Facebook are speedily gaining in popularity, the number of dead social network site members is also growing. In a tongue in cheek article contemplating online marketers’ inability to accurately gauge the number of live and engaged social networking site users, the Marketing Tech Blog threw out fictitious numbers, which claimed that 7.45% of MySpace users and 3.24% of Facebook clients are actually dead.

It is anyone’s guess if this fabricated estimate of dead online communities’ members is close to real or vastly off. Since the number of social networking signups is on the rise, it stands to reason that the same holds true for the number of dead users. Even so, it brings up an interesting question: what happens to your social network page after you are dead?

Dead But Still Alive in Cyberspace: MySpace and Facebook Users

Social networking after death continues on MyDeathSpace, a site that is expressly not affiliated with MySpace, but nevertheless contains the names, photos and MySpace social network page links of deceased users. The list is a sad memorial to the dead, alive in cyberspace because they signed up on social networking sites.

There are suicides, accidents, homicides and cancer deaths; there are tragic mishaps that cut off lives of 16, 18 and 19 year olds. You see photos of young cancer and suicide victims. You see family photos with young kids.

Like online communities of the dead, visitors can access the social networking pages of the dead and see comments posted by friends and family members. You can see what MySpace games the dead MySpace user liked to play, which music videos he posted and who her friends were. If you buy instagram video views from Buzzvoice and got a lot of viewers, it will still be reflected on MyDeathSpace. Basically, almost all of the details in the social media will also be shown.

The Facebook social network allows users to have a dead social networking member’s profile memorialized. Although dead, they are kept alive for confirmed friends by allowing the profile to remain visible. The wall continues to be an available space for messages and memorials. Contact information and status updates of the dead are removed.

Are the Online Communities of the Social Networking Dead Macabre, Gloomy or Fitting Memorials?

Salon is quick to point out that MySpace profiles can accumulate borderline tasteless or cruel commenters. Even offended family members cannot reign in some of the banter on the MySpace message boards.

Another concern is the activity of the dead – alive at the time – that might not be something they (or their families) would like the world to know. For example, Facebook is well known for the legions of undead in its Vampire Wars game, but what about the far more risqu├⌐ Sex Games application that has an estimated monthly 500,000 players (according to AppData)? Would you want mom and dad, Aunt Linda, your spouse or kids and your teachers to know about these exploits?

As social networking aficionados are warned to be careful about their activities in online communities and the occasional social network – usually for fear of offending a prying boss – keep in mind that dead or alive, your activities are for all to see.

Using The Internet To Become a Self-Taught Guitarist

Emery

In this day and age of the Internet, the only real need for a private instructor is to learn advanced methods and techniques from a professional. If you are just starting out, there is a wealth of free, self-explanatory knowledge on the Internet and since the vastness of cyberspace can seem daunting, I’ve gathered the best of the best to help you become a rockin’ guitarist in no time, plus your pockets will be a little heavier at the end of the day. Before you start learning the basics of a guitar you can choose a guitar that is perfect for you. In this case, HappyNewGuitarDay.com is there to help you.

First, you must know how to tune your guitar. http://www.gieson.com/Library/projects/utilities/tuner/ is a free tuner source that uses an actual guitar sound instead of a midi sound. You can also download the tuner to your computer so you can use it when an Internet connection isn’t available. You will need Flash Player installed to see the program. Once your guitar is properly tuned, your chords won’t sound like a dying animal. This website also has a little video that shows you how to restring an electric guitar. Stringing an acoustic guitar isn’t that much different.

A relatively new website called http://www.looknohands.com/chordhouse is the best free resource on the Internet for every chord imaginable, plus for beginners, it lists the names of each string by default. It has two guitar pages, one for basic chords and another for advanced chords and it is a one-stop resource. You can choose your chord by using drop-down boxes and not only see the fingering but you can hear the chord and play along until you get it right. It will play the chord one string at a time and then the full chord. This feature is also a great reference if you are a little rusty or come across a rare chord or two in a song.

I recommend learning a few basic chords first before you tackle a song. These chords are A, B, C, D, E, F, G and some other frequent-flyers like Em, Am, B7, etc, but learn A through G first. Once you start looking at the chords used in your favorite songs, you will know which other chords are commonly used. Just go back to this website and put them to memory.

Those with smaller hands will have difficulty with the B and F chords and variations and they need some more practice and muscle-memory to become quick on these. Sometimes a guitar with a thinner neck is needed for people with smaller hands. Some cheap guitar manufactures have it all wrong. They make child-sized guitars yet they have a regular width next. Always go to a music store to try out different sized necks before making a decision on your guitar. For women, http://www.daisyrock.com/ makes guitars with thinner necks but they don’t sell their products online. You have to do a search on their site to find a store in your area.

Next, you will want to put your chords to some good use. There are some excellent chord and tablature websites out there. I recommend going straight to sheet music with cords as you will see the actual name of the chord to be played where tablature shows where your fingers should be for each chord and sometimes if written by novices, doesn’t tell you the chord name. Tablature is good for guitar solos and a specific artist’s technique, otherwise, I recommend staying away from tabs.

Start out at www.ultimate-guitar.com as pretty much any song you can imagine is found there. You can search for a song or band name. Once you pick a song to look at, you will see that there might be more than one version, but lucky for you, others have already rated which one is best. Try out with the version with the most stars. Ninety-nine percent of the time it will also be the best version for you.

Next to each song, you will see chords, tab or Guitar Pro. Guitar Pro is software that allows you to download the chords onto your machine and have it play itself back at any tempo you choose. These Guitar Pro downloads were made by users like me and you and some are complete with each instrument where others just have the main tune. While this software is not needed it can come in handy and I use it on harder songs, especially because it is true sheet music and as a classically-trained musician I sometimes do better with the big picture and the structure of sheet music. You can try Guitar Pro 5 for free by visiting http://www.guitar-pro.com.

Even though you may want to jump right to your favorite songs, it might be better for those with no previous training to stick to songs that are comprised of less-complicated chords and regular strumming. It’s always a good idea to master the basics before you move on to trickier riffs. Plus, not all songs with seemingly straight-forward chords are as they seem. A couple of key tips will help you out with certain requirements that are not always explained on the sheet music.

Some songs might have straight-forward chords yet when you play along with the song it is a key or two off. If this happens, check the top of your sheet music to see if a capo is used and on what fret it should be placed on. A capo is a device that holds down all of the strings on any of the frets to create a higher tone. If you have the capo on the third fret and you have to play a C, you still play the C as you normally would without the capo, but you start it on the first available fret. It won’t sound like a C but this is just how it works. Musicians will use the capo when performing a song that is normally too low for their voice and some songs like Hotel California were written with the capo on higher frets, to begin with.

Sometimes you will have to tune down a half-step. For instance, some Green Day songs are tuned to E flat, which is a half step down for all strings. Some other songs only require that the low E string be tuned down a half-step. You can either do this by ear or purchase a guitar tuner to help you out. Another good free resource is at http://www.musiceffect.com/tuner as it lists all tunings imaginable.

These websites are all very clear-cut and should take the mystery out of learning to play the guitar. These are just a few of the many sites available to the novice player. A quick search will open you up to the vast world of free guitar tabs, lessons and online communities ready to help you out in a pinch.

Should You Spy On Your Child Or Teen’s Activities

Emery

SPYING:

Reading through your child or teen’s text messages to see what they have been up to with friends, look for information on a boyfriend or girlfriend, or check if they’ve said anything about you as a parent.

CAREFUL PARENTING:

Looking at your child or teen’s most recent calls if you are genuinely worried where they are; looking at the text message billing records through your cell phone company; demanding your child or teen surrender their phone (that you pay for as a parent) for a search if you truly suspect suspicious activity.

WHY? Going through a child’s personal communications out of pure curiosity is an invasion of privacy. Instead of sitting your child down for a one-on-one chat to catch up on each other’s lives, you instead rely on second hand information that may be understood incorrectly when out of context. If you should find something questionable or hurtful (perhaps said in the heat of the moment and then forgotten), this could be akin to reading your child or teen’s personal diary. We all have the right to vent to friends privately, as well as keep certain thoughts private from parents.

This is an atrocious behavior that most parents possess and this is what drives their child away from them as the latter feel that their parents’ intrusion is akin to keeping them in a gilded cage. Therefore, parents should look after their smartphones as duplicate apps are designed to steal personal info, which they can learn to tackle from https://spyphonetools.com/how-to/how-to-find-hidden-apps-on-android/.

However, if the phone is under your name and bill, you have the right to monitor suspicious activity (perhaps you see that calls are being made on your bill after everyone is asleep, or text messages are being received from an unfamiliar area code). This does not infringe on anyone’s rights – as a parent, you are providing your child with a luxury that they may be taking advantage of, or even conducting illegal activity with. As such, you have the right to reasonably ask them what is going on and warn them of the consequences.

SPYING:

Going through your child’s notes or journals to find usernames and passwords to online accounts; searching through purses or backpacks to look for notes or information on personal lives; periodically going through bedroom drawers, closets, and personal items.

CAREFUL PARENTING:

Asking your child or teen about their online usage; setting up a childsafe filter on the internet access at your residence; carefully allotting computer and online time for school and play at home; glancing over your child’s bedroom every so often; investigating a suspicious looking item or note left out in a public area.

There is a fine line between keeping tabs on your child or teen in their youth, and breaching their privacy as they grow older. My mother always told me how lucky I was to have a bedroom I could consider my sanctuary – her mother used to constantly go through my mom’s drawers, papers, desk, everything. There wasn’t really a reason behind it – she was just nosy and wanted to see what my mom kept private. This memory still stays with my mom today. As a child, it is a big deal to have a place to call one’s own and keep things hidden or safe. Especially since as a young child or teen, there is not much to call unequivocally your own. Having a respected private area, whether it is a desk drawer or entire bedroom, is something that can ease many young minds and lead to much more happiness in the household.

Of course, if this mutual respect of privacy is breached – say by bringing something not allowed into the house and hiding it in the private bedroom you allow your child – then this privilege of a personal space is no longer being respected. It is important to be teaching mutual respect while respecting your child’s privacy. Otherwise, they may take advantage of the fact in dangerous ways.

So, it is definitely a hard balance to keep when deciding on whether or not to “spy” on your children. The important part to think about is being in their shoes – what kind of checking up would ultimately hurt the child if they found out, and what would prevent them from hurting themselves?

Fail Out Of Bankruptcy: The Dark Side Of Personal Bankruptcy

Emery

The percentage of people who fail out of bankruptcy is on the rise. Many experts blame this phenomenon on the new bankruptcy laws implemented by Congress in 2005. When debtors file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy protection, they must submit a repayment plan to the court. Due to the inflexible provisions imposed by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act, many people are unable to adhere to their repayment plan for more than a few months.

All it takes is one missed payment to cause a person to fail out of bankruptcy. When debtors become delinquent with their Chapter 13 repayment plan, creditors can petition the court and request the bankruptcy be dismissed. If the bankruptcy judge approves the request, one of two things will occur. Either the judge will order the debtor to liquidate assets through Chapter 7 bankruptcy or entirely dismiss the debtor’s bankruptcy filing. The team of bankruptcy lawyers will be provided through the reputed companies to fight the cases of bankruptcy of the debtors. The repayment should be done as per the requirement of the client.

Whenever someone files for bankruptcy protection, they are protected from creditors through an “automatic stay”. Creditors are prohibited from initiating or continuing lawsuits, collections, repossessions, foreclosure, garnishments or levies. The automatic stay remains effective until the bankruptcy judge lifts it or grants the debtor discharge of their debts.

If bankruptcy is dismissed because the debtor fails out of bankruptcy, the automatic stay is lifted and creditors can commence with collection actions. In cases where debtors file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy to stop foreclosure, failing out of bankruptcy will cause them to lose their home. Once the automatic stay is lifted, foreclosure proceedings can resume immediately. In some instances, people who fail out of bankruptcy have been forced to leave their home in a matter of days.

When debtors are unable to make payments it is imperative they contact their bankruptcy lawyer. The attorney will contact the bankruptcy Trustee or creditors and attempt to work out a plan. If the financial setback is temporary, chances are good creditors will work with the debtor to help them avoid failing out of bankruptcy.

If the debtor is unable to meet the stipulations of their repayment plan for an extended period of time, the bankruptcy Trustee might allow the debtor to file Chapter 7. When this occurs, the debtor’s non-exempt assets will be liquidated to repay outstanding debts.

In cases where bankruptcy proceedings are dismissed due to failing out bankruptcy, the debtor no longer has protection from the court. Additionally, they cannot file for bankruptcy protection for eight years.

Chapter 13 repayment plans can offer consumers relief from mounting debt. However, debtors are required to fully comply with the plan or face the potential of failing out of bankruptcy. A large percentage of their monthly income must be contributed to pay-off outstanding debts. Repayment plans typically last between 36 and 60 months. During this time, no new debt can be incurred without permission from the bankruptcy Trustee.

Keep in mind bankruptcy remains on your credit report for up to ten years. If you fail out of bankruptcy, you could end up losing everything. Not to mention the added expense of bankruptcy filing fees and attorney expenses.

Before making a final decision to file bankruptcy, consider various alternatives such as debt consolidation, debt settlement, credit counseling and budgeting. While it might be tempting to file personal bankruptcy, there are other options that may be more effective and less detrimental to your credit.
